Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Bread
This Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Bread is perfectly moist and equally decadent! The combination of peanut butter, banana, and chocolate is unbeatable!

Ingredients

Bread

  • 1/3 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup oil (I used canola)
  • 3 Medium very ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 3/4 cup all purpose flour

Topping

  • 2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup mini semi sweet chocolate chips

Directions

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350
In a large mixing bowl beat the peanut butter, oil, bananas, cocoa, and sugar until well combined. Mix in the eggs and milk. Add the baking soda and flour and mix on low just until combined.
Pour batter into a greased loaf pan (9x5 1/2") and bake for 40 - 50 minutes or until tester inserted into the center of the bread comes out clean or with crumbs. Let cool at least 20 minutes before removing from pan. Let cool completely.
Step 2
Once bread has cooled, melt peanut butter in the microwave for about 20-30 seconds until thin enough to drizzle. Spoon into a baggie and snip the very corner off. Drizzle over bread and immediately sprinkle with chocolate chips. Store in a sealed container.

Yum! Just made this and it’s definitely a keeper 🙂 It took WAY longer than 50 mins at 350 though. Probably closer to 1.5 hours. My bananas weren’t as ripe as they probably should have been, so I should have added a touch more sugar to make it a little sweeter. Still, it has great flavor!

Just made this. Super yummy. I would almost cut the recipe in half – overflowing the pan too much. Or use it to make 2 loafs. Thanks!

Hi! I am making this, but 50 minutes at 350 doesn’t seem to be right. I took it out and it jiggled and a toothpick test showed completely raw batter in the centre. What did i do wrong?

You didn’t necessarily do anything wrong, Sarah! It probably just needed more time in the oven. Cooking times are really just a guideline as each oven is different. I hope you continued letting it cook so you could enjoy this yummy bread!

I am assuming this loaf is baked @ 350º F. I did not find a temp. anywhere in the recipe but I may have overlooked it. Thanks….this sounds delish. How can it be bad with peanut butter, and chocolate, and bananas?
