I am in love with those Oreo truffles everyone makes around the holidays.
I make about million every Christmas – all different varieties.
A few weeks ago I got this great idea to make a pumpkin pie version!
You guys, this recipe is so easy and it’s perfect for fall parties, Thanksgiving, Christmas, or Thursdays!
Honestly I am not a huge fan of pumpkin pie.
But take a golden Oreo truffle and add some pumpkin puree and cinnamon and suddenly you have a version of pumpkin pie that is totally irresistible!
My twin 2 year olds begged for one of these truffles every time I was in the kitchen.
So, I guess they’re kid approved too 😉
And here’s a little snippet of my life, in case you’re curious:
26 weeks pregnant. Fat and happy 🙂
Just imagine pumpkin pie paired with golden oreos, dipped in white chocolate.
Simply irresistible!
You could convert just about anyone into a pumpkin lover with these Easy Pumpkin Pie Truffles.

Easy Pumpkin Pie Truffles
Serves | 65 |
Ingredients
- 1 bag golden Oreos (finely ground in a food processor)
- 6oz cream cheese (softened)
- 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 16oz white chocolate (or candy coating/almond bark)
Directions
Step 1 | |
Mix everything except the white chocolate until very well combined and smooth. Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes. Roll the chilled dough into 1 1/2" balls and set them on a cookie sheet. Freeze the truffles for 30 minutes. | |
Step 2 | |
Melt the white chocolate according to package instructions. Dip one truffle at a time into the chocolate. Lift truffle out of the chocolate from underneath with a fork, tapping lightly to remove excess chocolate. Add orange sprinkles or let the chocolate set up and drizzle with more white chocolate dyed orange. Store covered in the refrigerator. |

I am going to make these tomorrow. What size bag of Oreos is called for? I see them in 350 grams and 500 grams. Also, I only have milk chocolate dipping pieces. It may not be quite as pretty but i be it is going to be tasty.
Stephanie Brubaker says
Hi Leslie! Use the 500 gram package of Oreos. I’m sure milk chocolate will be delicious! Enjoy!
Janice says
Can these be frozen?
Stephanie Brubaker says
Yes 🙂
Gina says
Do you scrape out the inside of the oreo cookie before grinding in processor?
Stephanie Brubaker says
Nope! Go ahead and use the entire cookie – cream and all 😊
Alli says
Hi! I’m making some goodies this holiday season and these look amazing! One question, will the chocolate, or any of the orange or white topping, melt if kept at room temperature for a few hours in an airtight jar before handing them out?
Stephanie Brubaker says
No, they won’t melt at room temp so you should be fine. Hope you all enjoy these truffles 🙂
Alisha says
I have made these a couple times, they are delicious and everyone loves them! I am terrible at dipping and making them look nice though lol. Thanks for the recipe.
Shannon says
I am not a very good baker but this looks like something I can do, and I am obsessed with pumpkin! I can’t wait to try them. I would love if you checked out my cooking blog as well…http://shansthecollegecookbook.blogspot.com
Anna says
Do you think these would be good with Pumpkin Spice Oreos? Or would it be too much?
Stephanie Brubaker says
Oh, I bet it would be delicious! Go for it!
Stevi says
First of all let me say that these are amazing. Like, wow. Too good for my own sake.
However, I need some help. Your fork method for dipping is fantastic, but as always I had serious trouble with the dipping part of this. My problem was the fork started picking up bits of the pumpkin part, and eventually got mixed into the dipping chocolate. So over time the white chocolate got thicker and clumpier and my second half is a mess! Once you dip them and tap off the excess, what do you do to keep the pumpkin mess from sticking to everything? And yes, I’m aware this may be the dumbest question in the history of dumb questions, but oh well. I want my truffles to look as amazing as yours!!!
Stephanie Brubaker says
So glad you loved these, Stevi! And this is not a dumb question. Dipping truffles can be tricky! My first tip is to work in batches. Take 5 or so truffles out to dip and keep the others frozen until you’re ready for them. Secondly, try using the long side of a toothpick to slide the truffle off the fork after it’s been dipped. Then if your fork has any pumpkin on it, wipe it off before dipping the next truffle. Hope these tips are helpful to you! Thanks for reading 🙂
Stevi says
Those are great tips…can’t believe I didn’t think of them myself! Do you thin your chocolate with something, or just heat it as is?
Stephanie Brubaker says
Have you tried using white chocolate Almond Bark or Candy Coating? It melts much thinner than regular white chocolate and makes dipping easier. Keep me posted if you try again! 🙂
Jean says
Have you ever made these ahead and frozen them?
Stephanie Brubaker says
Yes! They freeze very well 🙂
Jordan @ Smile Sandwich says

Amanda says
Hi there, these look fantastic, I do have a question though. Would I remove the creme filling before putting the cookies into the food processor? Thanks so much!!
Stephanie says
Nope, just toss in the whole cookie, filling and all! Enjoy! 🙂
Cheryl says
My dough did not seem thick enough to roll into balls 🙁
It tastes super yummy though. I followed the recipe? Help? Thank you.
Stephanie says
Try leaving the dough in the refrigerator for a couple hours. The dough is soft, but it shouldn’t be too soft to roll. If it still isn’t thick enough try adding some powdered sugar. Keeping them refrigerated (or even in the freezer for a bit) should do the trick. Good luck!
aanchal says
Thank you for the recipe!
I’ve seen other variations online, but I really want to try this one! It looks so good! 🙂
My question: If i use crushed gingersnaps cookies instead of golden oreos, would it taste more like pumpkin pie? or do the gingersnap cookies have too much flavor that it would overpower the pumpkin mixture?
thanks in advance!
Stephanie says
I think the gingersnaps would be a fun variation, but as far as tasting the most like actual pumpkin pie – the golden oreos are perfect! Gingersnaps would give them a strong ginger flavor not normally found in traditional pumpkin pie. Either way, I bet they’d taste yummy 🙂 Hope you enjoy them!

These look divine! I can’t wait to try them. I’ve made the oreo cookie truffles before and they looks horrendous- I really messed them up, but boy did they taste good. I’m hoping I have better luck with these! Thanks for sharing the recipe 🙂
Sarah @ Miss Candiquik says
I’ll have to try these! I would’ve never thought to add pumpkin puree – are they more “crumbly” or dry when compared to the traditional oreo truffles (crushed oreos/cream cheese)?
Thanks for sharing, you’re looking great!
Stephanie says
Yes, try them! They are not crumbly or dry at all! They have almost the exact texture as the regular Oreo truffles. Thanks for stopping by, Sarah!

Those look really good! And so pretty too! Everything sounds good but the cream cheese, I personally don’t like it and my hubby won’t touch anything that has cream cheese in it with a 10 foot pole. Any ideas for substitutions?
