Homemade Milky Ways
Ingredients
- 1 jar marshmallow fluff (7 oz)
- 2/3 cups chocolate spread (I use Hershey's, you can also use Nutella)
- 12 oz chocolate candy melts
- 7 oz soft caramels
- 2-3 tablespoons milk or cream
Instructions
- In a microwave safe bowl, melt 6 oz of the chocolate candy coating according to package instructions, and stir until smooth.
- Spread evenly into a parchment lined 8 1/2" x 4 1/2" loaf pan. Refrigerate until set (about 5-10 minutes).
- In a separate bowl mix together the fluff and chocolate spread.
- Microwave for about 30 seconds, stir, and pour evenly over the hardened chocolate in the loaf pan.
- In a microwave safe bowl melt the caramels with the milk. Stir until smooth and pour over nougat layer.
- Refrigerate about 30 minutes or until firm enough to cut.
- Remove the candy from the pan and peel off the paper. Cut into 8 bars for full size candy bars or 16 for fun size bars.
- Melt remaining candy coating in a bowl and dip the tops and sides of the candy bars until completely coated. Let the chocolate set and store in a sealed container.

Laura says
I want to them in dark chocolate. Any recommendations on what to use for dipping?
Stephanie Brubaker says
You can use any dark chocolate you like, if it seems to thick once melted, just add a tsp or so of coconut oil to thin it out. Enjoy!
emma francis says
so good Ihad to stumble them
Brian says
So are there 2 fluff and chocolate spread layers? Step 2 says to mix them and pour it over the first layer. But then step 3 says to do it again. Do you need double those ingredients or just split them in half?
Stephanie Brubaker says
Sorry for the confusion, Brian. Just one fluff layer and one caramel layer, surrounded by chocolate 🙂 Hope you enjoy them!
Carolyn says
This candy is Awesome and very easy to make! Thanks so much for the recipe.
Kim Anderson says

Stephanie Brubaker says

AussieChoc. says
American Milky Ways have caramel, whereas in the UK and Australia a Milky way is a soft nougat bar covered in milk chocolate.
I believe this is where the disagrement is stemming from
Ally says
The Milky Way bar is a chocolate-covered confectionary bar manufactured and distributed by the Mars confectionery company. Introduced in 1923, the Milky Way bar’s American version is made of chocolate-malt nougat topped with caramel and covered with milk chocolate, similar to the Mars bar sold outside of the U.S.
Tracy says
My wrapper says nougat, topped with Carmel and covered with milk chocolate
Juli says
Yes they do. https://goo.gl/images/jiHz6z You should have laughed.
Stefanie says
Just go watch the Unwrapped episode with Mark Summers and you will see that it does have caramel in the recipe. And furthermore, in 1997 they updated the recipe of the Milky Way and added more carmel.
K Oler says
Milky Ways DO contain caramel. It’s Three Musketeers that do not contain caramel.
Me says
