This recipe for Chewy Cinnamon Cookies with Dark Chocolate Chips is one you will make again and again. It will be perfect on your holiday cookie trays too!

Chewy Cinnamon Cookies with Dark Chcolate Chips - These cookies are AWESOME! Definitely going on my Christmas cookie trays this year! @Backforseconds #cinnamoncookies #christmascookies #darkchocolaterecipes

I made these cookies just for fun a few days ago. I had no intention of photographing them or sharing them here on my site. Then I ate one and all of that changed. These cookies are seriously out of this world delish! We ate the entire batch in a day and a half…because we were pacing ourselves.

I don’t even know if cinnamon cookies are a thing – I had never had one before making these. They taste sort of like a snickerdoodle but they’re chewier with a stronger cinnamon flavor. I added cinnamon chips too because I’m obsessed with cinnamon, and the dark chocolate chips really compliment them well.

If you don’t like dark chocolate, leave that part out and just use extra cinnamon chips. Or add white chocolate or semi sweet chocolate chips. Whatever you do, you NEED to make these!! My family is already begging for more 🙂

Oh wow! These are great. I have a child with severe but allergies so I substituted vanilla extract for the almond extract in the cookie and butter extract for the almond extract in the icing. AMAZING! Thanks for the recipe!

Just made these and they were great. Substituted peanut butter chips instead of cinnamon chips.

WOWWWWWW!! Love chocolate & cinnamon, so the combo of both is amazing!! I used dark and light metal cookie sheets…the light, baked cookies more firm, but still yummy and chewy…with the dark, I had to bake cookies for 11 minutes and they were still pretty soft, when I transferred them to the rack for cooling, BUT ohhhhhh myyyyyy goodness, were they beyond yummy!! Both were FANTASTIC!! Thanks for this awesome recipe!! :o)
