When I make my Mom’s delicious sour cream coffeecake, I combine brown sugar with chopped walnuts or pecans. Half the batter goes into the tube pan with a layer of the brown sugar and nuts on top. Then the rest of the batter goes in. A thick layer of brown sugar and nuts goes on top. Then I take a table knife and swirl it through the cake. It makes a delicious gooey marble ribbon through the cake with a crunchy coating on top. YUM!!!

We used to have HUGE squash in the garden when I was a young kid. .Mom would cut it into 5×6in. Pieces , cut criss-crosses.
Then Add butter, & “Brown sugar ” a sprinle of S&P and bake em in the oven till they were soft and bubbly brown. And wow what a side dish. We all loved it, still do ! ♡ love the cookie recipes! Thanks for sharing.

I like using brown sugar in DIY body scrubs. I mix with honey, lemon juice and olive oil for a nice body scrub on my elbows, knees and feet, brown sugar exfoliates the skin. 🙂

I always use light brown sugar when making Moravian Sugar Cake – an Easter favorite in this area and at my house. For the diabetics I use the brown sugar splenda blend instead. It is always a big hit!!!

    Stephanie,
These cookies look so delicious, I’d love to know how to make them! Could you share the recipe please?

My favorite way to use brown sugar is with sour cream and strawberries, dunking the berries first into sour cream and then into a dish of brown sugar.

    Thanks!

I use brown sugar, butter and vanilla to make the most awesome sauce for Bananas Foster! And when peaches are in season, I substitute fresh, sliced peaches for the bananas. Serve it over ice cream and sprinkle chopped walnuts or pecans on top! Yum!
