Chocolate Butterfinger Cupcakes

These Chocolate Butterfinger Cupcakes are one of the best cupcakes on the planet! Rich, fluffy, moist, and full of Butterfinger goodness. The frosting is chocolate peanut butter perfection! Seriously divine cupcakes!
Ingredients
Cupcakes
- 1/2 cup butter (melted)
- 1/3 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 cup canola oil
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 3 1/4 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 eggs
- 1 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 3/4 cups butterfinger bars (well chopped)
Frosting
- 3/4 cups butter (softened)
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 3/4 cups cocoa powder
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 4+ tablespoons milk
Topping
- 1/2 cup butterfinger bars (chopped)

Step 1 | |
Preheat oven to 350 In a large mixing bowl beat the butter and peanut butter until smooth. Add all remaining cake ingredients except the Butterfingers. Mix well. Stir in the Butterfingers by hand. Fill lined cupcake tins about 2/3 full. Bake for 14 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Allow cupcakes to cool completely before frosting. | |

In a mixing bowl beat together the butter and peanut butter until creamy and smooth. Add the cocoa, powdered sugar, and milk and mix well. If too thick add more milk one TBS at a time until it reaches the right consistency. Spread or pipe frosting onto cooled cupcakes and top with chopped Butterfingers. |
