Prep time 15 minutes
Cook time 15 minutes
Total time 30 minutes
Nothing beats this easy homemade apple pie filling! Try it spooned over pancakes for an amazing breakfast!

Ingredients

  • 4 large Granny Smith Apples (peeled, cored, chopped)
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons corn starch
  • water

Directions

Step 1
In a large bowl mix together chopped apples with all dry ingredients.
Step 2
Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add apples, stirring frequently. When a sauce starts to form (about 3 minutes) add some water, about 1/4 cup at a time until you have the amount and consistency of sauce desired. Cook for about 10 minutes. Serve warm. Refrigerate any leftovers.

Goodness gracious! These look divine. 🙂

I tried my hand at apple pie pancakes a year or so ago but I just placed sliced apples in the pancakes. Your pancakes look like an amazing pile of dessert for dinner!

How can the combination of pancakes and apple pie be bad? This reminds me of something they’d serve at IHOP only yours looks a zillion times better! Pinned!
