My brother sent me a bar of spicy chocolate when he was in Germany (ahhhh, German chocolate….) and I have been wanting to incorporate those flavors into one of my own treats ever since.
Obviously, I made brownies. They are my weakness, as you know.
I made the same brownie pie that I shared with you in my first week of blogging here, but instead of peanut butter and bananas I added cayenne pepper and cinnamon chips.
This was KILLER. So rich and fudgy. Intense chocolate flavor with a surprising spice and warmth. This is a perfect dessert to warm up with on these cool fall nights. You can increase or decrease the amount of pepper depending on your taste. Top it off with ice cream or whipped cream to balance out the heat. Mmmmm…
Spicy Cinnamon Fudge Brownie Pie
- 1/2 cup butter (melted)
- 1/2 cup cocoa
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 cup flour
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
- 3/4 cup cinnamon chips

I’ve always wanted to try adding cayenne to chocolate–don’t know why I’ve never braved it, since I love BOTH cayenne and chocolate. I’m going to give it a try after seeing this recipe!!

A few years ago I bought a chocolate/chili ice cream in a small black square container. It was from Poland if I remember correctly. It was like your brownies but without cinnamon. It was YUMMY! I think I will enjoy your brownies. 😀

That looks and sounds incredible! I have also wanted to try a spicy chocolate recipe… I think I’ll have to give this one a go!

I had Mexican Hot Chocolate Ice Cream once and it was WAY too spicy for my liking. I’m up for trying any kind of brownie though! (I may or may not sub butterscotch chips for the cinnamon ones because butterscotch chips are AMAZING in brownies.)
FrugalFoodieMama says
I love some spice infused into dark chocolate. There was a chocolatier I used to go to in Columbus that made a truffle that was modeled after one in the movie Chocolat. It was one of my faves! Definitely pinning this one. 😉

Looks delicious…all it needs is a nice espresso to go with it!!

OHMYGRAVY. So I’m kinda scared of incorporating chili with chocolate, but I DO love cinnamon + chocolate–the combination to me is irresistible! And this pie looks AHHHMAZING.
