Cake
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp vinegar
- 1/3 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 1/2 cup flour
- 1 1/2 tbsp red food color
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
Topping
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1/3 cup mini chocolate chips
Cake
Preheat oven to 350
In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar.
Add the beaten eggs and mix very well.
Mix in vanilla, cocoa, salt, and vinegar.
Add baking soda, baking powder, and half of the flour mixing until well combined.
Mix in the sour cream and milk.
Mix in remaining flour just until combined.
Add food coloring and mix until batter is evenly colored.
Stir in chocolate chips.
Pour into greased 8" square baking pan. Set aside.
Topping
In a small bowl stir together topping ingredients until the oil has coated everything. Sprinkle evenly over the cake batter.Bake for 30 minutes or until tester inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
