The Best Congo Bars

These are The Best Congo Bars! A thick and chewy classic dessert bar, filled with peanuts and three kinds of chocolate! No one can turn these down!
Ingredients
- 3/4 cups unsalted butter (softened)
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 3 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
- 3/4 cups salted peanuts
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips
- 1 cup white chocolate chips
- 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
Directions
Step 1 | |
Preheat oven to 350. In a mixing bowl cream the butter and sugar. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Add vanilla, salt, and baking powder and mix well. Mix in flour just until combined. Stir in peanuts and chips. | |
Step 2 | |
Spread dough into a 13x9" baking pan. Bake 16-20 minutes or until tester comes out mostly clean. Let cool before cutting into bars. |

I have never heard of Congo Bars but I am already a fan. It reminds me of a lazy man’s cookie. Instead of balling them you can just put all the dough together and done! I love it.
