Sweet and Salty Snack Mix #chexmix #sweetandsalty #candy
It’s been really hot here lately and on hot summer days I like to wear sun dresses. That’s what you’ll find me wearing almost everyday. I don’t remember the last time I wore shorts.
The other day I went out shopping and was wearing a trademark sundress. This one in particular was short. Not hoochie mama short, but above the knee. It was also a windy day. You see where this is going, no?

I feel like I need to publicly apologize for my indecent exposure to the masses on that day as I walked from my car into each store. The wind was faster than my reflexes and was getting carried away with my skirt. At least I had on cute underwear, right? Ahem.

Back to things that are NOT embarrassing and awkward. This sweet and salty snack mix. I got the idea to use bugles instead of my usual chex cereal from Hayley. It added a nice salty kick to this candy loaded mix. I just threw in handfuls of my fave candy that I had on hand and it turned into a bowl full of awesome addictive yumminess! Mix up a batch and eat away your embarrassing moments – it will make you feel better. Trust me, I know :/

by: Back For Seconds

  • 20 oz white chocolate almond bark
  • 1 cup chopped Oreos
  • 1 cup chopped golden Oreos
  • 1 cup Resees pieces
  • 1 cup M&M’s
  • 8 cups Bugles
Melt the almond bark in the microwave for 30 seconds and stir. Heat up again at 15 second intervals stirring in between until melted. In a large bowl mix together Bugles, M&M’s, Resees pieces, and Oreos. Pour melted chocolate over the mix and stir carefully until evenly coated. Pour onto wax paper in a single layer until dry. Break apart and store in a tightly sealed container.

Skirts are so much cooler than shorts — but yes, indeed, wind can cause a “revelation”! The snack sounds so good — anything with white chocolate almond bark is bound to help! Thanks so much for sharing on Busy Monday at A Pinch of Joy. Hope to see you again!

When I was in college, I worked downtown and often had to carry documents back and forth to the print/copy store a block over. Of course I chose the windiest day to wear my fly-a-way sundress, and trying to manage it AND carry a big box of photo documents…let’s just say half of downtown got a big show. =) Anyway, this sweet and salty mix looks wonderful–I love snacks like these!
