I am a bit of a cinnamon roll freak. All that warm, fluffy pastry loaded with cinnamon flavor, and please don’t skimp on the sticky icing! Yum. The only way to make it better is to add a cup (or 6 in my case) of Starbucks Holiday Blend coffee. Talk about #deliciouspairings
I headed to Sam’s Club for the giant bag of coffee – trust me, you want to do this too, it’s really good! The holiday season is winding down so the big displays are gone, but you should still be able to find some in the coffee aisle.
Then I headed over the the bakery for some of their Artisan Fresh Cinnamon Rolls! Hey, it was a lot faster than making my own and they have a fantastic bakery! 😉
Today we happened to get some snow, and it seemed like the perfect day to brew a pot of coffee, warm up some cinnamon rolls, and just relax by the tree and watch a movie. Yes, we still have our tree up. I took down the ornaments but left the lights on and it has a lovely wintery look!
Oh how I wish you could smell this!! It has a warm, comforting scent. Full of cinnamon and cloves with hints of orange, ginger, and nutmeg. Smells happy!
This was actually the first time I brewed by own Starbucks at home. Usually I just buy a latte or frap in the store (cinnamon dolce anyone??), but I am so glad I tried this Holiday blend – I loved it! Plus it’s a little more budget friendly 😉
I first tried the coffee on it’s own and really enjoyed the warm, spicy flavors. Then I dug into a warm cinnamon roll (which, by the way, is scrumptious!) and when I went back for another sip of coffee it was amazing how much stronger the cinnamon and clove tasted. The flavors really popped! I never knew how certain coffees could enhance your food and vice versa. I would truly recommend trying these together!
You know what else I loved about these cinnamon rolls? They required exactly 10 seconds of prep time in the microwave, which means I get more time to just sit and relax with my family. I really do love to cook but once in awhile it’s really nice to grab something easy like this. Everyone’s happy, and I get a break from the kitchen.I think we need to do this more often!
Speaking of things I need to do more often: I really need to get better about meal planning. It’s one of my goals for the new year. I am not much of a resolution type person but this year I am making an exception. I actually have quite a few goals for the year and this is one of them. I am really going to try harder to plan out our meals for the week. I know it will make things easier in the long run, I just need to do it!! Does anyone else struggle with meal planning? At least I know that coffee and cinnamon rolls from Sam’s Club are and easy breakfast option!
What are some of your New Year’s resolutions or goals?
