Easy Philly Cheese Steak Pasta
Serves 6-8
Easy Philly Cheese Steak Pasta was inspired by the famous sandwich and equally delicious! This crave-able dish is the perfect, comforting weeknight meal!

Ingredients

  • 10oz bowtie pasta (cooked and drained)
  • 1lb deli roast beef (chopped)
  • 1 Medium onion (sliced)
  • 3/4 cups grated parmesan cheese
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 3 cups milk
  • salt (to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 1/2 cup beef stock

Directions

Step 1
In a skillet saute onions over medium high heat until starting to soften (about 5 minutes). Add chopped beef and stir until heated through. Set aside.
Step 2
In a separate pan melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour until a paste is formed and stir and cook about 2 minutes. Slowly add in the milk whisking constantly until smooth. Stir in beef stock and continue cooking and whisking over medium high heat until sauce bubbles and thickens. Once thick, stir in cheese and let the sauce set for a few minutes to thicken more. Then pour over pasta. Add beef and onions and stir to coat.

Being a Philadelphian who was raised strictly on cheesesteaks, I have a hard time with anything called a cheesesteak that isn’t a cheesesteak. However, I am rational enough to realize that is stupid, since I’d miss out on fantastic dishes like this one! Love it!
