Red Velvet Chocolate Chip Bars

Red Velvet Chocolate Chip Bars are soft, chewy and loaded with chocolate! The perfect no-fuss dessert for Valentines Day, a birthday party, or just because!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp white vinegar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tbsp red food color
  • 12 oz semi sweet chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350
  • In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs, mixing well between each addition.
  • Add cocoa, salt, vinegar, and vanilla and mix until well combined.
  • Mix in flour and baking powder.
  • Add food coloring and mix until well combined.
  • Stir in chocolate chips.
  • Spread evenly into a greased 9x13" pan. Bake 22-24 minutes, or until toothpick inserted into the center of the bars comes out clean. Be careful not to over bake.
  • Allow bars to cool before cutting into squares.
