Chocolate Crinkle Gooey Butter Cookies from Scratch!
Serves 40
Cook time 9 minutes
Chocolate Crinkle Gooey Butter Cookies from Scratch are sure to satisfy your chocolate cravings! Thick, rich, gooey and ultra chocolatey! No cake mix needed.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 8oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 3/4 cups cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cups melted chocolate chips (slightly cooled)
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 2/3 cup all purpose flour

Directions

Step 1
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and cream cheese. Add cocoa, sugars, and vanilla and mix well. Add salt and eggs and mix again. Mix in chocolate until well combined. Add baking powder and flour and mix well. Cover and chill at least 2 hours.
Step 2
Preheat oven to 325
Roll chilled dough into 1 1/2" balls and roll them in powdered sugar. Place 2" apart on an ungreased cookie sheet (I like using a silicone baking mat or parchment paper lined cookie sheet).
Bake 7-9 minutes or until tops crackle. They will be very soft until they start to cool. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for several minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Store in a sealed container.
