What do you do when your sweet tooth is begging for a treat (say, rich, buttery caramel) but you’re really trying to watch your sugar intake? If you have never tried Werther’s Original Sugar Free Caramels, you are missing out!
They are still made with real butter and cream, but no sugar is added! They have just 8 calories each and only 4 grams of carbs. I was so pleasantly surprised by the flavor of these sugar free gems. They taste just like the original. There is no icky after taste, and there is no funky, fake sugar flavor at all. The best part for me is all the fun flavors there are to choose from. I tried the Original, Caramel Apple, Caramel Cinnamon, and Caramel Coffee. Each one is so good!
The generous folks at Werther’s sent me an awesome box with a cute little jar filled with sugar free caramels, and a few bags in a variety of flavors. I had the box sitting on the kitchen counter while I was working on getting dinner started, and I noticed the box magically opening and closing several times. I peered around the island and my little girl was about to snatch yet another piece of candy.
“Girl, I think you’ve had enough caramel for now. I know you’ve been sneaking some.”
“I can’t help it, Mommy, they’re just too delicious! I can’t stop” was her response. Hahaha!
There you have it, these sugar free candies are even 4 year old approved!
As I sit here writing this post, enjoying a yummy Werther’s Sugar Free Caramel, it got me thinking…
I need to make a sugar free version of these Mocha Toffee Fudge Cupcakes and crumble some Werther’s Originals on top, yes? 🙂
