Red Velvet Chocolate Chip Bars

Red Velvet Chocolate Chip Bars
Serves 24-28

Red Velvet Chocolate Chip Bars are soft, chewy and loaded with chocolate! The perfect no-fuss dessert for Valentines Day, a birthday party, or just because!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips

Directions

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350
In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs, mixing well between each addition.
Add cocoa, salt, vinegar, and vanilla and mix until well combined.
Mix in flour and baking powder.
Add food coloring and mix until well combined.
Stir in chocolate chips.
Step 2
Spread evenly into a greased 9x13" pan. Bake 22-24 minutes, being careful not to over bake. Allow bars to cool before cutting into squares.

    In the ingredients list it says baking powder, but the instructions it says baking soda. Which one should be used?
