Cheesy Chicken and Ham Bake

This creamy, Cheesy Chicken and Ham Bake is a hearty, comforting meal perfect for busy weeknights! It's like chicken cordon bleu in casserole form! SO good!
- 4-5 cups cooked, cubed chicken
- 1/2lb deli ham (chopped)
- 6 medium slices Swiss Cheese
- 1 cup Shredded mozzarella
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons all purpose flour
- 2 1/2 cups milk
- salt and pepper (to taste)
|In a saucepan over medium heat, brown the ham. After a few minutes remove the ham (do not clean the pan), and melt the butter. |
Whisk in the flour and cook for 2 minutes. Slowly add the milk while whisking to remove any clumps. Continue whisking and cooking for several minutes until sauce bubbles and thickens. Turn off heat and add salt and pepper to taste.
|In a 7x11" pan add the chicken in an even layer. Drizzle with half of the sauce. Top with ham then cheese in an even layer. Add remaining sauce. Bake at 375* for 25-30 minutes or until bubbly and hot.|
