Easy Chocolate Chip Macaroons Recipe

This Easy Chocolate Chip Macaroons Recipe is a must make for your Christmas cookie trays! Light and chewy with a delightful chocolate twist! The recipe is simple and the cookies freeze well, too!

Ingredients

  • 14oz sweetened shredded coconut
  • 14oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 10oz semi sweet chocolate chips

Directions

Step 1
Preheat oven to 325
In a large bowl, stir together the coconut, condensed milk, and chocolate chips until well combined.
Step 2
Drop by rounded tablespoons 1" apart on a parchment or silicone mat lined cookie sheet.
Bake for 12-14 minutes or until edges are golden.
Step 3
Allow cookies to cool completely before storing in a sealed container or freezing.

    These make a very sweet macaroon. I used dark chocolate chips to offset the sweetness. I think I could have used more coconut as well, maybe even some unswetened coconut, but that would remove the simplicity of opening and dumping 2 bags and a can. You cannot beat this for its simplicity. Also, some of the milk pooled around the macaroons and made a delightful caramel like layer. Overalk, we enjoyed these. I probably will try using some unsweetened coconut next time I make them.
