Well, kids it’s almost Christmas and I have about 10 more recipes I made and never got around to posting…there’s always next year. I do want to sneak in one last recipe before I sign off for a little Christmas vacation with my family.

Remember these from a couple weeks ago? Well, I saved some of the patties just for today’s recipe. Ohthesearesogood.

Homemade Peppermint Patties

You all know by now of my fondness for fudgy brownies, but did you also know that I consider ganache among my favorite foods? It’s true. You’re all shocked, I can tell :)

So I got all crazy and layered my favorite brownies with my homemade peppermint patties, and topped the whole thing off with a thick layer of chocolate ganache.

And then the angels sang.

Peppermint Patty Stuffed Fudge Brownie

A rich, indulgent fudge brownie stuffed with homemade peppermint patties and topped with ganache. Perfect for holiday entertaining!



  • 1 cup butter (melted)
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanila
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 40 peppemint patties


  • 12oz semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cups whole milk (or cream)


Step 1
Preheat oven to 350*
Step 2
In a large bowl stir together melted butter and cocoa until completely combined. Mix in sugar, vanilla and salt. Stir in the eggs one at a time. Gradually add in the flour and mix just until combined.
Step 3
Spray a 9x13" pan and pour in half of the brownie batter. Top with an even layer of peppermint patties. Pour on the remaining brownie batter and bake for about 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean or with fudgy crumbs. Let cool.
Step 4
In a medium glass bowl heat the milk (or cream) in the microwave for 1 minute or just until it starts to simmer. Pour in the chocolate chips and gently press them into the milk. Let them rest for 2 minutes then stir until smooth and pour over brownies, spreading into an even layer. Allow to cool before cutting. Cover tightly to store.
