This is one of those easy bar recipes that is so crazy good, you will make them all the time! My taste testers raved about these, and I can see why! Fudgy chocolate cookie bars loaded with melt-y chocolate chips and topped with a crunchy crust of Heath toffee bits. What more could you ask for?
Ok, you could ask for ice cream on top I made a sundae using salted caramel ice cream, and holy moly! Totally dangerous! Not much beats a warm melty, fudgy cookie bar topped with ice cream, toffee, and chocolate. I love desserts with lots of flavors and textures going on. This is one of my new favorites!
Instead of mixing the toffee into the batter, I made a toffee crust on top of the bars. This crunchy topping was a perfect complement to the chewy, fudgy bars. Let’s just say, I ate my fair share of these
Double Chocolate Heath Bars

- 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 3/4 cups cocoa powder
- 1 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 cup all purpose flour
- 2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
- 1 1/2 cup Heath toffee bits
Preheat oven to 350
In a large mixing bowl beat the butter, cocoa, and sugar until well combined. Add the salt, vanilla, and eggs, mixing well. Gradually add in the flour, mixing just until incorporated. Stir in the chocolate chips.
|Spread into a greased 9x13" pan and top evenly with toffee bits. bake for about 20 minutes. Do not overbake, you want these to be fudgy! Cool and cut into bars. |
